Understanding the fare
The sample fare for this itinerary is ¥144,100 (medium bus, 23 people, 9 hours).
The fare covers 1 medium bus with a driver, fuel and vehicle insurance.
Expressway tolls to the Kyoto area and parking fees at stops such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple are not included in the fare and are charged separately at actual cost.
Even for the same itinerary, allow about 20% higher than on weekdays for weekends and peak seasons. You can calculate an estimate based on Kyoto Prefecture rates on our fares page.
Choosing the bus
23 people fit comfortably in a medium bus (27–33 seats).
If you have a lot of luggage or want more room in the seats, you can also choose a large bus. The fare is higher accordingly.
Depending on the vehicle, a small bus (21–25 seats) may not fit 23 people, so check the number of seats before deciding.
FAQ
- What should we do about the driver's lunch?
- In most cases, customers arrange it. If you tell the restaurant how many drivers there are, it may be able to prepare meals for the drivers. This is not mandatory.
- Can we eat boxed lunches (bento) on the bus?
- Yes, you can. Please take your trash with you.
- Does the fare change if our group grows or shrinks from 23 people?
- As long as you stay within the seating capacity of the medium bus, the fare is the same even if the number of people changes. If you exceed the capacity, the bus type changes, and so does the fare.
