Understanding the fare
The ¥144,100 shown is a sample fare for arranging this itinerary with a medium bus (23 people, 9 hours).
This amount includes the medium bus, the driver, fuel and vehicle insurance.
Expressway tolls to the Kyoto area and parking fees at stops such as Marumasu Nishimuraya are charged separately at actual cost.
On weekends, public holidays and in peak seasons, expect about 20% higher than on weekdays as a guideline. You can calculate an estimate based on Kyoto Prefecture rates on our fares page.
Choosing the bus
A medium bus seats 27–33, the right size for this itinerary with 23 people.
The luggage compartment holds about 20 suitcases (a guideline).
A large bus gives more seating and luggage space, but the rate is higher and it may have difficulty getting into stops on narrow roads.
Depending on the vehicle, a small bus (21–25 seats) may not fit 23 people, so check the number of seats before deciding.
FAQ
- Are there English-speaking drivers?
- In some areas, drivers who can handle English are available. Please ask when you book.
- Is there an extra charge if traffic delays our return?
- Delays for unavoidable reasons such as traffic congestion are not subject to extra charges. If the itinerary is changed for the customer's own reasons, the additional amount will be billed later.
- Can we change destinations on a rainy day?
- As a rule, national operating regulations do not allow itinerary changes on the day. Cancelling because of the weather is treated as a customer-side cancellation and is subject to cancellation fees, so it helps to plan a rainy-day itinerary in advance.
