Understanding the fare
The sample fare for this itinerary is ¥385,000 (minibus, 18 people, 27 hours).
The fare covers 1 minibus with a driver, fuel and vehicle insurance.
Expressway tolls to the Osaka/Kyoto area, parking fees at stops such as Osaka Castle, and driver accommodation are charged separately at actual cost. Looking for driver accommodation within about 10 minutes or 5 km one way of your own accommodation helps keep the cost down.
Weekends and peak seasons cost more than weekdays: about 20% higher as a rough guideline. Fares are based on the driver's working hours and the distance driven, so even a 30-minute change in times may change the fare.
Choosing the bus
A minibus seats 21–27, the right size for this itinerary with 18 people.
A medium bus gives more seating and luggage space, but the rate is higher and it may have difficulty getting into stops on narrow roads.
A commuter van (13 seats) cannot carry all 18 people.
FAQ
- Where do we board the bus at Kansai Airport (KIX)?
- If you let us know your flight number and arrival time (or departure time), we will check for a pickup spot near the airport where charter buses can stop and let you know.
- Do we need to arrange the driver's accommodation?
- Driver accommodation is charged separately from the bus fare, and we ask you to provide a private room with bedding. The cost rises if it is far from your accommodation, so as a guideline, keep it within 10 minutes or 5 km one way.
- Can we change destinations on a rainy day?
- As a rule, national operating regulations do not allow itinerary changes on the day. Cancelling because of the weather is treated as a customer-side cancellation and is subject to cancellation fees, so it helps to plan a rainy-day itinerary in advance.
