About this itinerary

A group of about 16 people (trips with friends, local clubs or neighborhood associations) travels from Naha Airport to the Motobu area on a 2-night, 3-day trip.

Day 1 takes in Shuri Castle (lunch) and Orion Happy Park, and Day 2 takes in the Valley of Gangala and Umikaji Terrace.

On the first day, the bus leaves Naha Airport at 11:00.

Suitcases are loaded into the luggage compartment at the airport and stay there, so there is no need to carry luggage through transfers beyond Naha Airport.

The same bus is used throughout the overnight trip, so you can leave your luggage on board until you reach your accommodation.

Understanding the fare

¥181,500 is a sample fare based on an actual booking, for a small bus with 16 people and 13.5 hours.

This amount includes the small bus, the driver, fuel and vehicle insurance.

Expressway tolls to the Motobu area and parking fees at stops such as Shuri Castle (lunch) are charged separately at actual cost. Because the bus returns to its depot between the outbound and return trips (deadhead), expressway tolls for the legs without passengers are also charged at actual cost.

Weekends and peak seasons cost more than weekdays: about 20% higher as a rough guideline. Fares are based on the driver's working hours and the distance driven, so even a 30-minute change in times may change the fare.

Choosing the bus

16 people fit comfortably in a small bus (21–25 seats).

The luggage compartment holds about 15 suitcases (a guideline).

A medium bus gives more seating and luggage space, but the rate is higher and it may have difficulty getting into stops on narrow roads.

A commuter van (13 seats) cannot carry all 16 people.

FAQ

Where do we board the bus at Naha Airport?
If you let us know your flight number and arrival time (or departure time), we will check for a pickup spot near the airport where charter buses can stop and let you know.
Do we need to arrange the driver's accommodation?
Driver accommodation is charged separately from the bus fare, and we ask you to provide a private room with bedding. The cost rises if it is far from your accommodation, so as a guideline, keep it within 10 minutes or 5 km one way.
Can we change destinations on a rainy day?
As a rule, national operating regulations do not allow itinerary changes on the day. Cancelling because of the weather is treated as a customer-side cancellation and is subject to cancellation fees, so it helps to plan a rainy-day itinerary in advance.
